Musical Dice -- The 4X + 1 Strategy
Written December 13, 2025
Admittedly, this strategy is taken from Jeremy (from ColorUp)'s recent Slingshot strategy, where he starts off with 440 inside, then regresses to 110 inside after one hit on any of the inside numbers. That way, you will have a $30 profit after that one hit.
On the Slingshot strategy, after you've regressed down to 110 inside, then with each subsequent hit, you press by 25 (30 for 6 and 8). Exceptions to this are when you hit a 5, and there isn't a bet yet on the 4, instead of pressing the 5, you place the 4. Similarly, if a 9 hits, and you don't yet have a bet on the 10, you place the 10 for 25 instead of pressing the 9.
That's the Slingshot strategy in a nutshell. Of course, you may want to scale up or scale down these bets based on what minimum level your table. I figured that since the beginning of this strategy is like my 4X strategy, I'll call the scalable version of the Slingshot strategy, the 4X + 1 strategy, with the 1 being when you press your bets by one unit, with a unit being, in this case, the minimum bet, not just $5 or $6 (unless you're on a $5 table). As before, the initial inside bets to be made after the point is established, is four times the minimum bets. On a $10 table, for example, that woule be 176 inside (40 each on the 5 and 9. and 48 each on the 6 and 8).
The 4X + 1 strategy does include a few additional minor tweaks. For example, you may want to regress down to half your initial inside bets after the first hit, instead of going immediately down to base level after that first hit, then regress down to base level after the second hit. That way, you'd be at more of a profit once the regression is complete. Such is twice as risky, but it is an alternative way to play. Another minor tweak is, if, for example, a 5 hits and you place the 4, then another 5 hits, you may want to place the 10 instead of waiting for a 9 to hit to place the 10. One more minor tweak is, if you had pressed the 6 or 8 to two units, and a 4 or 10 doesn't have a bet on it, instead of pressing the number up to 3 units on the next hit, place 4 and 10 with a unit each out of the winnings. Just some recommendations.
Of course, the big enemy in this kind of a strategy is the early seven-out before you're able to regress. But a big advantage to this strategy is the fact that you will really see your profits go up fast, especially if you're able to press your Place bets up to three or more units. As I've stated in my other strategies, this strategy is not a guaranteed winner every time. No strategy is. But I have to say, I am pretty excited about this strategy, and I think it'll be a powerful strategy to add to your arsenal of craps stregies. Also, I would not recommend this strategy on just any shooter, since the initial part to the 4X + 1 strategy is high-risk. I'd recommend using this strategy only if you're confident that the shooter will be able to get you past the one initial hit you'll need to get into profit. Anyway, good luck! ☺
